Zelma Faye Stokes GOREVILLE-Zelma Faye Stokes, 83, of Goreville passed away at 11:00 PM, Thursday, April 2, 2009 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 6, 2009 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Reverend R.G. Null officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. Memorials may be made to the United Cerebral Palsy Association; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Stokes was born September 9, 1925 in West Frankfort, Illinois to James Ambrose and Bertha Caroline (Glenn) Pritchett. She married Norman L. “Bud” Stokes on February 25, 1942 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri he preceded her in death on October 31, 2001 they shared 59 years of marriage together. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Sue & Fred Cato of Goreville, Donna & Gary Draper of Elgin, Sandra & Marvin Powles of Mill Creek, Dorothy & Valgene Johnson of Goreville, Fran & Pete Francis of Goreville and Ruby & Rick Francis of Goreville; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bud; daughter, Shirley Ann Stokes; 6 brothers; 1 sister; and 4 great-grandchildren Mrs. Stokes loved spending time with her family and her dog Chi-Chi, she also loved to embroider, watching her television shows, working puzzle books, camping and shopping. She will be missed by all who knew her.
