Wilva J. Bredahl MARION-Wilva J. Bredahl, 69, of Marion passed away at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at her home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the First Church of God in Marion with Reverend Herbert Priester and Reverend Mike Ebert officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 7, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made in her memory to the family to be used as a perpetual memorial with her favorite kennel clubs; envelopes are available at the funeral home or send c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, Il 62959. Mrs. Bredahl was born July 19, 1938 in Lincoln, Illinois to William and Eva (Schaub) Skelly. She married Richard Bredahl on January 17, 1991 in Joliet, Illinois; together they shared 17 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband, Dick of Marion; son, William Alstrom and Tracy Reardon of Plainfield; son, Rick Alstrom of Peoria; daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Dan Denise of Kona, Hawaii and Katrina and Stan Gooch of Marion; and grandsons, Colt Alstrom and Danniel Gooch. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mrs. Bredahl was a member of the New Creation of Lutheran Church in Channahon. She was very active in the Dachshund world - 8220; Wilva loved her dachshunds. She spent years raising some of the finest dogs to grace the dog show ring, showing them herself, raising beautiful, well-tempered puppies and always lending a helping hand to her friends. She was a charter member of the Lincolnland Dachshund Club, and a member of the Illinois Valley Kennel Club and the Dachshund Club of America.
