Wilma Shadowens

Marion-Wilma F. Shadowens, 77, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Herrin Hospital. Wilma was born on October 3, 1939 in Marion to Drew and Mable (Ollis) McCormick. She married Ray Junior Shadowens on October 18, 1962.  He preceded her in death on November 4, 2015. Wilma formerly worked as a seamstress at Smoler Brothers. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include: Children: Jeffrey and Jackie Shadowens Brian Shadowens Trina and DJ Pedigo Nine grandchildren Nine great grandchildren Sister-Vera and Hubert Benedict Brother-Hubert and Charlene McCormick Half-sister-Velma and Homer Robinson Step siblings: George Grisham Jiles E. Grisham Edith Fitts She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great grandson, Brantley Michael Jones and siblings, Alene (Henry) Barringer, Kenneth (Wanda) Simmons, Ella (Paul) Moss, Della (Claude) Barwick, Nella (Clarence) Crites and Albert (Willie Lois) McCormick Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 2, 2017 at 12pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. John Burnett officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Friday from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.
