Wilma Maple

MARION - Wilma R. Maple, 59, passed away with her husband by her side at 7 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at her home. Services will be at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, in Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Robert Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home or may be sent to P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Wilma was born Jan. 10, 1954, in Eldorado to Eugene and Rosie (Kirsch) Reynolds. She had just turned 59. She married Ron Maple Sept. 16, 1988, in Owensboro, Ky. They shared 24 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband, Ron of Marion; mother, Rosie of McLeansboro; children, Shane and Susan Little of Whiteland, Ind., Shelley Jones of Marion, Erica Maple and partner Jason Estes of Christopher, Chad and Michelle Maple of Pittsburg and Brad and Melanie Maple of Marion; grandchildren, Drayson, Tyler, Kaley, Laney, Zoe, Madelyn, Scott, Zac, Reagan, Sydney, Braden, Brody, Olivia, Khole, Jackson and Ivy Rose; and brothers, Don and Donna Reynolds of Carmi and Jim and Kay Reynolds of Clay City. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene. Wilma loved the thrill of a great find, having yard sale shopping as a hobby. Her greatest passion was spending time with and helping to care for her many grandchildren. Mrs. Maple had an enormous heart which was evident by her constant ability to put others first before herself. She was a wonderful person and will be cherished in the hearts of her numerous family members.
