Goreville- Wilma “Jean” Adams, 85, of Goreville, formerly of Evansville, IN, passed away at 4:26am, Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at her home.
She was born on August 30, 1931 in Evansville, IN to Clarence and Lola (Winebarger) Crowley. She married Rev. Wilburn Dean Adams on November 10, 1950 in Evansville, IN. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2007.
She began working in the comptroller’s office of Southern Illinois University of Carbondale. She then worked for 20 years in the purchasing department at Bristol Myers Squibb in Evansville, IN. She retired in 1992. She later worked for a short time at WPS in the clerical department.
She was a longtime member of Busby Chapel in Goreville. She served in many positions including secretary, treasurer, and clerk. She was musically inclined and could play the piano and sing and she enjoyed craftwork and writing journals. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. As a minister’s wife, she faithfully travelled with her husband as he pastored many different churches throughout his career. She will be dearly missed by the many people and friends she met along the way.

Daughter- Connie McNichols and husband Karl of Goreville
Eight Grandchildren
Eleven Great Grandchildren
Brother- Norman Crowley of Panama City Beach, FL
Brother- D. Wayne Crowley and wife Jackie of Newburgh, IN
Several nieces, nephews and cousins
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Ronny Adams, one grandson and one great grandchild.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Busby Chapel in Goreville. Pastor Brent Schuetz will officiate. Burial will follow at McKinney Chapel at Lake of Egypt. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM, Friday, March 10, 2017, at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.
