William Edward "Eddie" Ray

William Edward "Eddie" Ray, age 71, of Pittsburg, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois.

William was born November 15, 1950 in Herrin, Illinois, a son of William and Lola Nadine (Krantz) Ray. Eddie had worked in maintenance for various commercial businesses. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps.

He is survived by three children, Robert and Merri Ray of Creal Springs, IL, Lori and Aaron Fox of Oakdale, IL, and Heather Ray of Pittsburg, IL; five grandchildren, Britany and Richard James, Zachery and Mikayla Ray, Morgan and T.J. Eilers, Kinze Fox, and Hayden Ray; four siblings, Anita Galloway, Sheila and Tony Furlow, Kevin Ray, and Leisa and Doug Holmes; his Great Granddaughter, Jessie James, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, December 31st, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 31, 2021, 11:00 AM at Blue Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant- Poordo in Pittsburg, Illinois .
