William Ralls

Creal Springs William C. Ralls, 84, of Creal Springs, passed away at 9:35 AM on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral Services for Mr. Ralls are scheduled for Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Tim Blankenship officiating. Interment will follow in Cobden City Cemetery with Military Rites conducted by the Anna VFW. A time of gathering for family and friends will precede the funeral service on Wednesday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of arrangements. William was born in Carbondale on Friday, August 12, 1927. He married Lela Mae Ralls who preceded him in 198. He later married Betty (Newbold) Blackwell; she survives. William is preceded in death by his parents; sons, Johnny Ralls, William C. Ralls, Jr. & Tracey Blackwell; and two sisters. Mr. Ralls is survived by his wife, Betty; children, Robert Caraker, Sr., Lois & Billy Joe Kent, Deborah & William Brimm, Donna & Jeff Holderfield, Kevin Ralls, Vicky & Marvin Borum and Steve “Bull” & Gwen Blackwell; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren. William was a WWII Army Veteran of Protestant Faith. He was formerly a railroad conductor for Illinois Central and previously employed with the Illinois Department of Corrections-Menard Prison. William had also filled time by completing occasional security work in the area.
