William R. Jenkins MARION-William R. Jenkins, 66, of Marion passed away at 2:15 PM, Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 22, 2006 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend David Hancock officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, July 21, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Freedom Cemetery, south of Marion. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or Freedom Cemetery; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Jenkins was born July 13, 1940 in Williamson County, Illinois to William Rolla and Afton (Morgan) Jenkins. He married Darles Kelley on June 25, 1960 at Freedom Church in Marion; together they shared 46 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Darles of Marion; son and daughter-in-law, Darren and Cynthia Jenkins of Glen Carbon; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Joe Bleyer of Marion; daughter, Twyla Jenkins-Holmes of Marion; grandchildren, Jacob and Katie Jenkins, Michael Kolb, and Trey and Clayton Holmes; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert L. and Lenda Jenkins of Carterville, Garry and Karen Jenkins of Marion, Gaylon and Anne Brown of Mt. Vernon, Indiana, and John and Tina McKinnies of Carterville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Claudette and Ford Harris of Carterville and Joan and Roy Frank of Carterville; mother-in-law, Maxine Kelley of Marion; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Jenkins retired from CIPS after 30 years of service. He was an avid horseman and team roper. He loved to spend time with his family and he will be greatly missed.
