William M. “Bill” Carroll GOREVILLE-William M. “Bill” Carroll, 83, of Goreville has gone to be with the Lord at 6:00 PM, Monday, August 23, 2010 at his farm in Goreville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Reverend Gilbert Craig officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery in Goreville. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Bill was born March 28, 1927 in Live Oak, Florida to Ruby (Mobley) Carroll. He married Barbara Jones on October 5, 1947 in Folkston, Georgia. She survives. Survivors include his wife Barbara of Goreville; sons & daughters-in-law, Steve L. & Mary Beth Carroll, and Bill & Peggy Carroll all of Goreville; grandchildren, Tara & Vic Silvestri of Franklin, Tennessee, Steve W. Carroll of Goreville, Clint Carroll of Champaign, and Megan Carroll of Columbia, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Sophia, Victor, John, Ty Silvestri; sisters, Jean Doudy of Daytona Beach, Florida, and Jeanette & Dan Philmon of Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his mother. Bill owned and operated Carroll Food Market in Goreville since 1971. he loved farming and cattle, hanging out at the store, his grand and great-grandchildren. Bill served his country in the United States navy. He attended Community of Faith Church, and he will be missed by family and friends.
