William J. Jackson
MARION-William J. Jackson, 81, of Marion passed away at 7:45 PM, Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 1, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Jeff Baker and Reverend Tim Blankenship officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Creal Springs Cemetery. Mr. Jackson was born on September 6, 1925 in Johnston City, Illinois to Raymond C. and Sidney (Buchanan) Jackson. He married Mary R. Goodwin on August 16, 1946; together they shared 59 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Marion; son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Ann Jackson of Creal Springs; son, Terry William Jackson of Marion; grandchildren, Jamie and Danny Ferrell and Casey and Keala Jackson; and great grandchildren, McKager and McKayla Ferrell.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, R. C. Jackson, who was killed in Italy during World War II; and sister, Helen Gallimore.
Mr. Jackson worked as an operating engineer. He attended the Abundant Life Assembly of God in Marion. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local 150. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.
