William Douglas "Bill" Adams

West Frankfort- William Douglas “Bill” Adams, 72, of West Frankfort, passed away at 3:23 PM, Saturday, November 30, 2013 at HeartlandRegionalMedicalCenter in Marion.  Bill was born on June 13, 1941 in Alton to Oren and Ina (Downs) Adams.  He married Delores Cain on January 17, 1969 in Alton.  She survives of West Frankfort.  He was a US Army veteran.  Once discharged, he began a career with the power company.  In his spare time he enjoyed camping with his family at RendLake and watching old westerns on TV.  Survivors include-  Wife- Delores Adams of West Frankfort Daughter- Susie Austin and husband Bill of Rosewood Heights, IL Daughter- Cindy Lindhorst and husband James of Hartford, IL Son- Billy Adams and wife Christina of Oologah, OK Daughter- Theresa Adams of West Frankfort Son- Doug Adams and wife Karla of Medora, IL Thirteen Grandchildren Seven Great Grandchildren Sister- Mary Osland and husband Larry of Alton Sister- Doris Adams of RosewoodHeights One niece and one nephew  He was preceded in death by his parents and great grandchild- Nichole Grace Adams.  A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at HerrinCityCemetery.  A brief visitation will begin at 10:30 AM and extend until time of service, Wednesday at the cemetery.  Rev. Matt Caraway will officiate.  Military rites will be provided at graveside by the Herrin VFW and American Legion Posts with assistance from the Illinois National Guard.  Funeral arrangements were made through Blue Funeral Home in Marion.  Memorial donations are suggested to the family and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N.
