William "Bill" Burns

Marion-William “Bill” Burns, 81, passed away at 10:40am on Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. Bill was born on July 23, 1933 in Williamson County to William Wallace and Myrtle (Stuart) Burns.  He married Carole Pritchett on June 28, 1957 in Marion.  She survives of Marion. Bill was in the U.S. Army and retired from Bearing Service after working there for 40 years.  He was a member of Energy First Baptist Church. Bill enjoyed gardening and was the Market Master in Marion’s farmers market for several years. Survivors include: Wife-Carole Burns of Marion Daughter-Nancy and Van Hendrickson of Marion Grandsons-Alex Hendrickson and Chris Hendrickson He was preceded in death by his parents Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor John Yeo officiating. Burial will follow at Wise-Robinson Cemetery.  Visitation will also be on Saturday from 9am until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to a charity of the donors choice and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N.
