Thompsonville Wayne Eugene Hellberg, 70, of Thompsonville departed this world at 6:54 AM on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at his home. Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Brother Bob Workman officiating. Interment will follow at #8 Cemetery near Pittsburg. The hours to call upon Wayne’s family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to either the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association. Envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Home PO Box 411 Marion IL 62959. Wayne was born on Saturday, November 22, 1941 in Williamson County to Harold & Helen (Garris) Hellberg. He married Janet Wisek-Tanner, who survives of Thompsonville. Mr. Hellberg leaves behind his loving wife, Janet; children, DeWayne & Eliza Hellberg, Becky Craig, Ronald Tanner and Regina Duncan; grandchildren, Joshua Hellberg, Everett & Jessica Hellberg, Brittany Hellberg, Wyatt Odum, Ashley Odum, Cody Tanner and Katy Robertson; great-grandchildren, Asher Hellberg and Annamae Hellberg; step-children and great-step-children; brother, Harold Dean Hellberg & sisters, Barbara O’Connor, Wilma Fofar and Roberta Carter. Wayne was preceded by his parents; sister, Rosetta Stapleton; sister-in-law, Virginia Fleming; brothers-in-law, Bill Stapleton, Bruno Fofar, Bernard O’Connor, Bill Carter and Don Bayles; mother-in-law, Lena Wisek-Craig; special aunt, Nadine Mulkins and one step-son. Wayne was a retired coal miner and a member of UMWA. He enjoyed trading horses and was a member of Smarts Chapel Church.
