Wanda Mandrell

February 1, 1938 — January 29, 2025

Marion

Wanda P. Mandrell peacefully passed away January 29, 2025. Wanda was born in Hickman, KY on February 1, 1938. In February 1958, she met the love of her life. On their first date, the weather was icy, she lost her shoe, and it slid down the icy driveway. That was the day their love story began. They married on August 29, 1958, beginning a partnership that defined her life with love, strength, and devotion.

For over two decades, Wanda served her community as a deputy tax collector and payroll clerk for Williamson County Government. After retirement, she continued helping others by volunteering at the Lighthouse Shelter.

She was a member of Walnut Hill Freewill Baptist Church. She found joy in simple, meaningful pleasures-solving puzzles, playing piano, sewing, reading, tending to her flowers and plants, watching butterflies, and showering her kitties with affection. Weekly visits to the salon, shoe and purse shopping, and indulging in Hallmark movies, crime shows, popcorn, and an ice-cold Pepsi brought her special delight. In her final moments, she enjoyed one last Pepsi for the road courtesy of her nephew, Darrin. She will be deeply missed but will be remembered for her giving nature and constant acts of kindness.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Mandrell; daughter-in-law, Linda Mandrell; grandchildren, Karrie (Kevin) Harris, Jeremiah Mandrell, and Leslie (Thomas) Fann; great-grandchildren, Haley (Ryan) Cornaglia, Hunter Harris, Miah and Harper Mandrell, and Maddyson and Hudson Fann; sister, Joyce Piper; special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Laurel Dean; her parents, Virgil and Thelma Minton; her two sons, Greg and Jeff Mandrell; her sister, Linda Simmons; brother-in-law, John Piper; and in-laws, Milo and Wilma Mifflin.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Blue Funeral Home under the direction of Binkley-Ross.  Visitation will be held at Blue Funeral Home on Monday, February 3, 2025, from 11:00 - 1:00 PM. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 PM, with Keith Owens officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations will be accepted for The Lighthouse Shelter and Finding Forever Animal Rescue.

Rest in peace Grammy. We love and miss you!
