Wanda C. Brookmyer

Herrin- Wanda C. Brookmyer, age 83, of Herrin, passed away at 5:15am on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at FriendshipCareCenter in Herrin.  Wanda was born in Carbondale on January 22, 1934, the daughter of Charles C. and Gertrude (Margraves) Daniels. She married Galen Brookmyer. He preceded her in death.  Mrs. Brookmyer was a homemaker. She was of Protestant faith.  Wanda liked to sing and play the autoharp, and occasionally, the piano and organ. She enjoyed crafts. Survivors include her children- Rick Brookmyer of Herrin      Jon Brookmyer of Royalton      Charles Brookmyer of Sesser Six Grandchildren Several Great Grandchildren  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Galen, grandson- Josh Brookmyer, five brothers, and five sisters.  Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at EgyptianMemorialGardens in Energy with Rev. Ken Tiffin officiating.  Family and friends are asked to gather directly at the cemetery. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements.  For those who prefer, memorial donations may be made to the family, c/o Rick Brookmyer.
