Vivian Hudgens-Escue
Marion-Vivian Escue, 94, of Marion passed away at 1:15 AM on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at Herrin Rehab & Nursing.
Services will be held on Friday, May 20, 2011 starting at 9 AM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion; Reverend Jerry Schell & Reverend Jim Jackson will officiate. Burial will take place in Friendship Cemetery in Goreville following the service. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Home, P.O. Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959.
Vivian was born on December 6, 1916 in Union County, IL to Harvey & Lona (Stokes) Hudgens. She married Homer L. Escue in McKinney Chapel; he preceded her on April 28, 1990.
She is survived by her son, Donald L. Escue; grandchildren, Robert & Jo Ann Craig of Bay Minette, AL, Gilbert & Brenda Craig of Marion, Kim & Larry Vaughn of Goreville, Robin & Theresa Escue of Rosiclare, Tonya & Jim Sears of Charleston, Linda & Gary Brush of Vienna, Gayla Escue of Marion, Christy Germann of Iuka, MS and Angie & Randy Cerney of Jonesboro; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Vivian was preceded by her parents; husband; sons, Orville & Bob Escue; daughter, Betty Craig, 1 brother and 3 sisters.
She was a member of Friendship General Baptist Church and had recently begun attending Lone Oak Church. She was a retired switchboard operator from Elgin Mental Health Center. Vivian loved to read and grow flowers. She made quilts & crocheted. She loved all of her family and especially enjoyed cooking for them. Vivian loved and served the Lord for many years.
