Virginia Sanders

Marion- Virginia L. “Tooter” Sanders, 87, of Marion, passed away at 7:34 AM, Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
She was born on December 5, 1927 in Johnston City to Aubrey and Myrtle (Sheldon) Grant. She married Julian Sanders on Valentine’s Day 1947 in Johnston City.
Virginia worked as a teller for several years for Limerick Finance and White Loan. Later she worked in the credit union at Caterpillar in Peoria and then as a secretary for the Decatur School District in Decatur. She last worked at McArthur High School.
She attended Heartland Christian Church in Marion and was always active in whatever church she attended. She was a hardworking, genuine person who cared for others and will dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Talesha Grant, Semaj Joyner and Jayden Sanders of Rex, GA
Shaleta McCoy of Stockbridge, GA
James Joyner, Jr. of Atlanta, GA
Great Grandchildren- Iam and Tyler Sanders of Dallas, GA
Tavores, Jerlyn, Kymauri and Kynlei Grant of Rex, GA
Braylan Joyner of Atlanta, GA
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister- Louella King and Brothers- Aubrey Grant, Jr and Bill Grant.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Heartland Christian Church in Marion. Brother Greg Gibbs will officiate. Burial will follow at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be from 6-9:00 PM, Friday, January 2, 2015 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion.
