MARION - Virginia L. Whitehead, 68, passed away at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2013, at her home.
Virginia was born May 7, 1945, in Marion, the daughter of Arlie and Genevieve (Tucker) Jack.
She married Leo A. Whitehead on Feb. 7, 1964, in Marion.
She was a longtime member of Spillertown Baptist Church and enjoyed caring for the elderly. Virginia also enjoyed spending time with her family and will be missed by all.
Survivors include husband, Leo A. Whitehead; children, Dennis and Kim Whitehead, Cheryl and Marvin McComas, Lee Anne and Barry Steed, Leo and DeLynda Whitehead and Clint Whitehead; grandchildren, Dustin Whitehead, David and Rachel Whitehead, Brandi Cross, Ashley Cross, Lynsey Cross, Matthew and Jessica McComas, Lindsey McComas, Kami Frey, Alea and Aaron Gabe, Corrina Steed, Sadie Steed, Abby Steed, Brocton Whitehead and Bryson Whitehead; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Leroy Jack, William "Butch" Jack; and sister, Lucille Dalton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Gayla Marshall; brothers, Robert Jack and Loren Jack; and sisters, Lucinda Bione and Joy Spiller.
Services will be at noon Thursday, May 16, in Blue Funeral Home in Marion, with Pastor Barry Steed officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to noon Thursday at the funeral home.
