Violet W. LeMay

HERRIN - Violet Wonettia LeMay, 82, passed away at 10:40 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, in Herrin Hospital. Services for Violet will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, in Blue Funeral Home in Marion, with the Rev. Jerry Schell officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements. Violet was born Aug. 11, 1930, in Carrier Mills, to Loren "Jack" and Berttie (Oliver) Murphy. She married Fred R. LeMay Sr., who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Diane Chamness, Fred LeMay Jr., Rhonda LeMay and Kevin LeMay; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters, Wilma Cobb, Dorothy Ragsdale. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, one brother and great-granddaughter. Violet was a caregiver to the elderly. She will be greatly missed.
