Poordo-Violet L. Richey, 91, passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at her home.
Violet was born on June 7, 1922 in Poordo to George and Pearl (Welborn) Jones. She married Chester Richey in 1938 in Morganfield, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1974.
Violet was a homemaker and loved to cook. She enjoyed working in the yard and loved her animals and her farm. Violet attended Angelville Community Church and everyone who knew her loved her and she loved everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter-in-law, Millie Richey; grandson, Mark Mocaby; great-great grandson, Trenton Ford; brother, Gene Jones and sister, Betty Mocaby.
Funeral services will be at 2pm on Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. John Howat and Rev. Jason Jean officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant “Poordo” Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
