Marion-Violet Lee Johns Jeter, 95, went to be with her Lord at 7:15am on Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Herrin Hospital.
Violet was born on Easter Sunday, March 27, 1921 in Scottsboro to Charlie and Bertie (Hudgens) Johns. She married Loren C. Jeter on January 13, 1940 in Jackson, MO. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Violet was a lifelong member of Scottsboro Baptist Church. She accepted Jesus as her savior at age 12 and was baptized and joined the church at age 16. Violet was a homemaker who loved making picture albums. She loved her family and spending time with them. Violet loved her church and had many good neighbors and friends. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren; brother and sister in law, Sid Johns and Barbara; two infant sisters; one infant brother; brother in law, Maurice Abney and granddaughter in law, Margie Jeter.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 2pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Joe McRoy officiating and eulogy by Jeannie Mofield. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Sunday from 11am until the time of service at the funeral home.
