Violet Frey
Marion- Violet Lucille Frey, 81, of Marion passed away at 9:22 PM, Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at his Fountains Nursing Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 24, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Cecil Clendenin officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, March 23, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the church or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959.
Mrs. Frey was born on November 25, 1925 in Marion to Hubert and Myrtie (Boyt) Meadows. She married Luther T. Frey April 6, 1945 in Marion and they were happily married for 57 years until his death on May 24, 2001.
She is survived by daughter Valerie Hall of Crab Orchard, son Joe and wife Anita “Pickle” Frey, daughter Carol Murphy and her partner Dudley Cantrell, daughter Cheryl and husband Rick Moss all of Marion; grandchildren Heidi, Ryan, Shana, Mike, Jeff, Cortney, Michael, Denver, and Lacee; great-grandchildren Taylor, Elaney, Paige, Collin, Shannon, Keigan, Carley, Blaze, Duke, Zoe, Bao, and Ava; sisters Betty Klope of Harrisburg, and Francis and husband Lyle Draper of Marion;
aunts Edith Felts of Makanda, and Loree Wilmore of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law Lester Hall; grandchildren Shannon and Phillip; brother-in-law Jimmy Klope.
Mrs. Frey attended LeMasters; McKinley; Washington; and Marion High Schools. She was a former employee of “Tomâs BBQ”, and Marion Memorial Hospital. Violet attended the Revival Tabernacle Church in Spillertown.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fountains nursing Home and the staff of Hospice of Southern Illinois for their care and compassion during the time Violet was in their care. They would also like to send a special thanks to Kay Parks who was so special to Violet.
