Vestle M. McKinney MARION-Vestle M. McKinney, 91, of Marion went to be with the Lord at 9:45 PM on Tuesday, April 11, 2006 at Heartland Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 14, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Fred Meece and Reverend Scott Evans officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, April 13, 2006 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery south of Marion. Mrs. McKinney was born on January 8, 1915 in Massac County to Ollie and Alice (Chun) Jones. She married James McKinney on October 1, 1932 in Franklin County and they shared over 60 years of marriage until he passed away on January 2, 1993. Survivors include her children, James E. and Shirley McKinney of Little Rock, Arkansas, Bob L. and Alice McKinney of Marion, Norman “Shorty” and Christine McKinney, Donald and Ella McKinney of Johnston City, Sue and Gilbert Evans of Marion; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one grandson; one great great granddaughter; nine brothers and sisters. For the past three years, Mrs. McKinney had lived with her daughter Sue. She loved her family and her joy in life was her grandchildren. She was a member of Liberty #6 Church. She was a hard worker in everything she did.
