Verna Mae Allen

Joliet Verna Mae Allen, 85, of Joliet, Formerly of Marion, passed away Monday, January 2, 2012. Visitation for Verna Mae will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 from 10:00 AM until Noon at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. According to Verna’s wishes, her body was cremated and a committal graveside service will follow the visitation at McKinney Chapel Church Cemetery with Reverend Ivan Ryan officiating. Memorial donations are requested to be sent in to the Donor’s choice; envelopes will be available during services or may be sent C/O Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Verna Mae was born on Friday, June 11, 1926 in Goreville to Della & Claude Barwick. She married Ira Allen who has preceded her in passing. Verna Mae is survived by her son, Mike Allen; grandchildren, Rich Law, Alicia & Jeff Wyatt, Jamie Grabo, Andrea Allen and Jonathan & Amy Grabo; Several Great-Grandchildren; siblings, Andrew & Millie Barwick, Jula Belle Kent and Juanita & Don Bloodworth and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ira; daughter, Brenda Kay Grabo; infant daughter, Linda Faye Allen and brother, Claude Barwick, Jr. Verna Mae retired from Kerr Glass of Plainfield after 20 years of faithful service. She was a member of Faith Bible Church in Joliet.
