Venetia F. Dempsey Hardin, KY- Venetia F. Dempsey, 83 of Hardin, KY, formerly of Marion, IL passed away at 4:46 PM, Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at Murray-Calloway County Hospital in Murray, KY. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Am, Monday, October 25, 2010 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Richard Edmonds officiating. Burial will be at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Marion. Memorial donations may be made to the Aurora Baptist Church; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL, 62959. Venetia was born on July 6, 1927 in Marion, IL to Thomas Virgil & Vaultie (Wells) Johns. She married Charles W. Dempsey on March 14, 1942 in Jackson, MO; together they shared 68 years of marriage. Survivors include her husband; children, Charles R. & Sandra Kay Dempsey of Benton, KY and Virgil R. & Sharon Dempsey of Louisville, KY; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and one sister, Wanda Vetta of Florida. Venetia was preceded by her parents and one brother, Lowell Johns. Venetia spent her life as a homemaker and a devoted member of the Aurora Baptist Church. She enjoyed to go fishing.
