Troy Lane, Jr. GOREVILLE-Troy Lane, Jr., 75, of Goreville passed away at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at Herrin Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, June 16, 2006 at Glendale Cemetery with Reverend Harold Canup Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 15, 2006 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Lane was born November 29, 1930 in Weaver, Illinois to Troy and Mae (Stanton) Lane. He married Gracie May Arnold on May 29, 1968 in Winterhaven, California; together they shared 38 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife, Gracie May of Goreville; daughters, Serina Kay and her husband John McCree of Goreville, Dena Ann Porter and her husband, Kenny of Hurst; son, Troy Lane, III and his wife, Kim of Marion; grandchildren, Emma Porter, Jacob and Jackson McCree, Austin Lane, and Jillian Kromvall ; sisters, Opal Wolfley of Jacksonville, Florida, Helen White and her husband Sam of Olathe, Kansas, Betty DeHart and her husband Johnnie of Bush, Dorothy Reynolds and her husband Bill of Herrin, and Mavis Sedlak of Pharr, Texas; Sisters-in-law Barbara Meyers of Bumpus Mills, Tennessee and Lela Poteete of Herrin, Illinois; Brother-in-Law Edward James of Herrin, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth Lane, Luvern Lane and Robert Lane; and sister, Marie James and Brothers-in-Law Virgil Wolfley and Rudy Sedlak. Mr. Lane served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years during both the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After leaving the Navy he began working for the United States Prison System, retiring after 20 years. He was also a life time member of the Herrin VFW.
