Thomas Van Horn Sr.

Marion-Thomas William Van Horn, Sr., 88, formerly of Morris, IL, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 in Herrin Hospital. Thomas was born on September 7, 1929 in St. Louis, MO to James and Julie (Hanlon) Van Horn. He married Marilyn Jean Ewing on June 7, 1950 on Randolph County, AR. Thomas is survived by his wife; two sons, Thomas W. (Frances) Van Horn, Jr. and Timothy J. (Mary Lou) Van Horn; three grandchildren, Thomas W. Van Horn, III, Brian (Margaret) Van Horn and Nathan (Tricia) Van Horn; seven great grandchildren, Justin Van Horn, Kara Van Horn, Haley Van Horn, Lauren Van Horn, Aaron Van Horn, Ian Van Horn and Ashley Van Horn. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Peter Linn Van Horn. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
