Marion-Thomas E. Shadowens, 68, passed away at 5:45pm on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at his home.
Thomas was born on October 28, 1944 in Scottsboro to Ed and Gladys (Simmons) Shadowens. He married Marsha Murray on October 28, 1965 in Marion. She survives of Marion.
Thomas was an auto mechanic at J&P Exhaust. He loved to go fishing and hunting and enjoyed attending gospel singings. Thomas was a member of Whiteash Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Marsha; son, Thomas Edward Dewayne Shadowens of Marion; daughter, Katrena Sims of Herrin; grandchildren, Preston Lee Sims II, Kaela Kay Sims and John Wayne Sims and sister, Evelyn Jack.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry Shadowens and sisters, Sybil Shadowens, Alma Jean Dodd, May Etta Harmon, Emma Lou Rady and Margaret Davidson.
Funeral services will be at 12pm on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Bro. Deon Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home.
