Thomas Green

Thomas Green MARION-Thomas Green, 62, of Marion passed away at 8:55 PM, Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. As per Thomas’s personal wishes there will be no public visitation or funeral. Blue Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Green was born on December 13, 1943 in Marion, Illinois to Aaron L. and Nellie R. (McClanahan). He married Nancy L. Hightower in 1962, and she survives. Other survivors include daughter, Cynthia A. Green of Carbondale; his mother, Nellie R. Green of Marion; brothers, Billy Mack Green of Benton, Donald E. Green of Grove Town, Georgia and Robert W. Green of Evans, Georgia; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr. Green was a Marion High School Class of 1961 graduate. He served his country in the United States Air Force from March of 1962 to November of 1965. Early in his life he worked for IBM as a customer service engineer. He later went into business with Bob Ahne and Ivo Vogt at Tri-Ex Office Equipment in Carbondale, after awhile they moved the business to Herrin and called it T & I Office Equipment. He currently had been employed by Stiles Office Solutions in Carbondale.
