Terry Allen MARION-Terry Allen, 64, of Marion passed away at 12:15 AM, Thursday, November 15, 2007 at Parkway Manor Nursing Home surrounded by family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Bruce Fox officiating. Visitation will be from Noon until 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Military rites will be held at the cemetery by Marion VFW Post 1301 and American Legion Post 147. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mr. Allen was born February 16, 1943 in Pittsburg, Illinois to Emmel and Myra Rose (Christ) Allen. Survivors include his father Emmel of Marion; sister, Nelda Ridlen of Marion; brother and sister-in-law, Richard Lee and Eva Jean Allen of Newburgh, Indiana; brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Lori Allen of St. Charles, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Chris and Kim Groves, Roxie and Bruce Radcliffe, Christopher Paul Allen, Nicholas Gene Allen, Tara Leigh Allen, Jeremy Allen and Emily Allen; grand-nieces and grand-nephews Hannah Loyd, Brittany Loyd, Jessica Trexler Groves, Brittany Trexler Groves, and Ariana Groves, and special friend Mary Samples. He was preceded in death by his mother, brother-in-law Leston Ridlen. Mr. Allen was of the Methodist faith, he had previously worked for Freeman United Coal Company number 4 for 30 years, and he was the owner and operator of Terry’s Boat Repair for 20 years, he was a member of the Southern Illinois Bass Busters; he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He fished in and won many bass tournaments. Terry served in the United States Navy in Vietnam aboard the USS Saratoga, the USS Intrepid and the USS Forrestal.
