Tamorah Ann Jenkins

Tamorah Ann Jenkins, 64, of Marion passed to God on January 18, 2022.  Tammy was born to Jack and Norma Jenkins in Harrisburg, Illinois on December 10, 1957.

Tammy attended grade school in Harrisburg, Elkville, Steeleville, and Marion, Illinois.  She graduated from Marion High School in 1975.

Tammy had a challenging life from birth due to her many health problems.  She found peace in her home in Marion.  She enjoyed her solitude and was content staying at home with few people around.  What others would have seen as lonely; she saw as ideal.  Tammy loved music and was a faithful John Denver fan.  Tammy was a talented artist and crafter.   She directed this attention to her home and for many years was constantly changing the décor for holidays or decorating themes.  Her home was her happy place, her sanctuary.   

Tammy had two children who she really loved: Kate Pape and Matthew Jenkins, both of Marion.  They survive her.  She is also survived by four grandsons, Ben Gwaltney, Jake Gwaltney, Greg Dunham, and Sam Dunham and by her father, Jack Jenkins, her sister, Deborah Pape, her best friend of more than 50 years, Rhoda Wollard, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tammy was preceded in death by her mommy, Norma Jenkins, who we are sure was waiting to greet her in heaven with open arms.
