Susan Vavrik

Marion-Susan M. Vavrik, 57, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Herrin Hospital. Susan was born on July 20, 1961 in Chicago to Charles and Ruth Walsh. She married Chris Vavrik and they shared 18 years of marriage. Susan was a wonderful wife, mother, friend and coworker. She was smart, intelligent and well-focused.  Susan was raised Catholic-Irish.  She worked as a bank teller and branch manager before becoming a paramedic.  Susan was a paramedic supervisor and the EMS Director of Operations. Survivors include: Husband-Chris L. Vavrik Children: Kristina Pierce Kim Pierce Jennifer Pierce Brian Pierce McKayla Pierce Three grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; step mom, Albi Walsh and cousin, Powers O’Conners. Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 11am at Rose Hill Cemetery with Father Brian Barker officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 9am until the time of service at Blue Funeral Home.
