Pittsburg-Sue Allyn (Lee) Schroeder, 76, passed suddenly on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 into the eternal presence of her Savior at her childhood home where she and her husband have resided for the last seven years.
Sue was born to Clyde W. and Lois (Walker) Lee on March 27, 1937 in West Frankfort. She married Charles W. Schroeder on January 21, 1953 in Pocahontas, Arkansas.
Sue was an LPN and worked many years in the Herrin area. She attended Pittsburg Freewill Baptist Church and she and Charles were members of the Pittsburg Methodist Church.
Survivors include her beloved husband Charles; daughter and son in law Charla and Ron Murphy of Taylorville; son and daughter in law Jeff and Kim Schroeder of Marion. Grandchildren, Bruce (Julie) Murphy, Amanda (Gary) Andress, Sarah (Sean Vancil) Murphy and Lee (Katie) Schroeder. Great grandchildren, Hunter and Parker Murphy, Rowdy Damm, Dylon Vancil, Gabe, Wade and Charlie Andress and the little princess Kaydin Schroeder. Also surviving is brother in law Eugene Ramsey; much loved nieces Darlene Hancock, Sherri Thompson and Dixie Paternoster and nephews Kevin and Greg Ramsey. Sue will be sorely missed by her beloved dog “Daphne”
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Vivian Lee, Cleo Midgett and Pat Ramsey.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, August 23, 2013 at Mt. Pleasant “Shed” Cemetery, east of Marion, with Rev. April Turner officiating. Friends wishing to attend are asked to gather there for services. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is in charge of arrangements.
