Stephen Chris Herren MARION–Stephen Chris Herren, 39, of Marion, passed away at 7:30 AM Wednesday, September 22, 2010, at his parent’s home in Marion, Illinois. Services will be held at Blue Funeral Home on Monday September 27, 2010 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM, September 27, 2010. Kerry Wilcut will officiate. Burial will be at Davis Prairie Cemetery in Marion. Donations may be made to the Stephen Herren Education Fund; envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Stephen was born in Marion on October 24, 1970, the fourth child of Charles & Dorothy (Starling) Herren. He attended four years at Highland Academy in Portland, TN and graduated in 1990. He began his 20 year career as a mold polisher in 1991. Steve married Deanna R. Davis, his high school sweetheart in 1992. Shortly following, his son Stephen Andrew was born on November 27, 1992. In 1995, Steve, Deanna & Stephen moved to Mooresville, NC where he continued his work in the Tool & Die Industry. After a few short years came the birth of their daughter, Lexie Anne, on October 31, 1998. He is survived by his wife; son; daughter; parents; and four siblings, Tim Herron of Gardena, CA, Carla Gennick of Coronado, CA, Greg Herren of Chattanooga, TN and Amber Thomas of West Frankfort, IL; five nieces and three nephews. Stephen was preceded in death by his loving nephew Nathan Davis Kenmore age six. Steve & Deanna started building their home in 1999, which was completed in 14 months. He was self educated in the art of construction and built the vast majority of the house himself. He owned and enjoyed working on his Plum Crazy Purple 1970 Dodge Challenger RT. He enjoyed collecting guns and was an excellent marksman. Steve had a love for spaghetti westerns and also had an incredible talent for remembering old songs and the artists who sang them.
