Shirley Hill

Marion-Shirley Fern Hill, 76, passed away at 12:45pm on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at her home. Shirley was born on May 27, 1939 in Marion to Dolphus Woodrow and Samelda Imogene (Harris) Grimes.  She married Orville Eugene Hill on March 21, 1956 in Marion.  He preceded her in death on May 31, 1976. Shirley worked for thirty four years as school bus driver for Marion Unit #2 Schools before retiring in 2011. She was Baptist and a former member of Parrish Park Baptist Church in Marion.  In her spare time, she enjoyed reading romance novels, crocheting, spending quality time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and giving advice to her children whether they wanted it or not. Survivors include- Daughter- Mary Kay Evetts-Robertson and husband James of Marion Daughter- Melanie Lynn Smith of Marion Daughter- Michelle Renee Johnson and husband Terry of Marion 5 grandchildren and 7 step grandchildren 3 great grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren Brother- Charles Ray Grimes of Stiritz Numerous extended family members She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Michael Hill and two brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 11am at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Robbey Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at Hanks Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at the funeral home.
