Shirley Frances James Cody MARION – Shirley Frances James Cody, 77, of Marion passed away at 3:20 PM on Friday, January 14, 2011 at Marion Nursing and Rehab Center in Marion. According to her wishes she will be cremated and there will be no services. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements. She was born August 15, 1933 in McLeansboro, IL to Leslie James & Nola (Pierce) James. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Paul & Vicki Hatfield of East Peoria, IL; son, Charles Hatfield of Springfield, IL; daughters and sons-in-law, Nola & Raye Mallicoat of Brimfield, IL, and Niccole & Todd Cornaghie of Marion, IL; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Cletus Hicks; and sisters, Shelby Hocking & Betty Campbell. Shirley spent much of her youth in church and professed faith in Jesus Christ at an early age at Brush Harbor Church east of McLeansboro. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Heartland Regional Medical Center and Hospice for the care she received prior to her death.
