MARION-Shirley Bloodworth, 69, of Marion passed away at 4:30 AM, Monday, January 28, 2008 at St. Louis University Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Dennis Smith and Reverend Cindy Freeland officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday January 30, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Marion. Mrs. Bloodworth was born September 29, 1938 in Creal Springs, Illinois to Virgil and Myrtle (Smith) Edwards. She married Horace C. “Peck” Bloodworth on December 12, 1959 in Marion; he preceded her in death on June 20, 2005.
Survivors include her children, Rod and LaShirl Bloodworth of Johnston City, Clifton and Regina Bloodworth of Marion, Jeff and Wendy Bloodworth of Marion, Robert and Stephanie Bloodworth of Johnston City, Eugene and Christine Bloodworth of Marion, Guy and April Bloodworth of Marion, Ellen and Bruce Williamson of Pittsburg and Crystal and David OâConnor of Marion; seventeen grandchildren, Stephanie Murphy, LaShelta OâConnor, Kerri Kinell, Chris Williamson, Mark and Karen Williamson, Christy OâConnor, David OâConnor, Clinton Bloodworth, Derek and Jennifer Bloodworth, Cierra Bloodworth, Sara Bloodworth, Sierra Bloodworth, Whitney Bloodworth, Heather Johnson, Holly Bloodworth, Nicole Bloodworth, and Phil Ambrose; thirteen great grandchildren, Ashton OâConnor, Emberlyn Kinell, Dylan Kinell, Garrett Dunning, Lillian Skye Bloodworth, Koby Childers, Christian Hollgrath, Bronson Bloodworth, Dereka Bloodworth, Skyler Ambrose, Gracie OâConnor, Luke Williamson and Trenton Williamson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Joe and Jean Edwards and Earl and Peggy Edwards; sisters, Martha Harris and Kay Horn; and special friend, Mary Beth Rees.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; grandson, Steven Dean Bloodworth; brothers, Albert, Jack, Hebert and Virgil Dale Edwards; and sister, Opal Colbroth.
Mrs. Bloodworth was a member of the Tower of Light Ministries. She worked as a caregiver for the elderly. She loved her family deeply.
