Shelby Lynn “Ebby” Heltsley MARION-Shelby Lynn “Ebby” Heltsley, 41, of Marion passed away at 7:12 AM, Thursday, February 22, 2007 at his home. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Edward “Shorty” Alsip officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, east of Marion. Ebby was born September 11, 1965 in Marion, Illinois to Lynn R. and Pearl (Leonard) Heltsley. Survivors include his mother, Pearl Heltsley of Marion; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Shawn Davis of Marion; aunts and uncles, Marie and Allen Spiller, Wilma and Terry Gill, Linda and Keith Vandiver, Patricia Parton, Charles and Chris Leonard and J. C. Wilkerson; niece, Ashley Heltsley; nephew, Justin Davis; and grandfather and step-grandmother, Shelby and Violett Leonard. He was preceded in death by his father; grandmother, Icie Leonard; grandfather, Haid Heltsley; grandmother, Joyce Parton; great grandmother, Pearl Thompson; cousin, Keith Parton; and uncles, Shelby Leonard, Johnny Leonard, Harold Parton, Larry Heltsley and Gene Heltsley. Ebby loved working with anything that would keep his hands busy, such as leather and wood. He never met a stranger. He loved people and will be missed by all.
