Shawn Leland Alton JOHNSTON CITY-Shawn Leland Alton, 41, of Johnston City passed away at 8:09 AM, Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM, Friday, January 18, 2008 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Matt Crain officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until time of the service on Friday, January 18, 2008. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM eastern time Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, Indiana with Pastor Jason Donaldson officiating. Mr. Alton was born August 10, 1966 in Vincennes, Indiana to James Clinton and Belvia (Robbins) Alton. He married Kim Williams March 14, 2005 in Marion. Survivors include his wife Kim; children, Josh Royster, Leland Alton, Brandon and Karina Curd; grandchild, Jalen Royster; father and step-mother Jim and Janet Alton of Vincennes, Indiana; brothers, Dan Powell of Chicago, Clinton Alton of Herrin, Charles Alton of Marion, Gary Alton of Pittsburg, Greg Alton of Paulton, and Jimmy Alton of Lakeland, Florida; sisters, Diana Dunmire of Marion, and her twin Dawn Marks of Creal Springs; step-brothers Tom and Jerry Lewis of Vincennes, Indiana; step-sisters Betty Rossi of Vincennes, Indiana, and Terrie Gavin of Florida; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; grandmother, Chlorene Reel; grandfather, Charles Scott; nephew, Phillip Alton; and several aunts and uncles. Mr. Alton liked the outdoors and nature; he liked hiking, and fishing. He will be missed by all who knew him.
