Scott Barney

Scott E. Barney, 57, of Stonefort, passed away suddenly and was received by the Lord, on Wednesday, July 20, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 14, 1964 in Malone NY, the son of O.H. Barney II and Sandra Fleury Barney.  Scott grew up in CT and attended schools in Montville.

He is survived by the love of his life, wife Jamie. He is also survived by his children: daughters, Krystyn Barney, Mandy Barney and Emily Ross; sons, James Barney and Aaron Ross, and his pride and joy grandson, Caspian. Scott also leaves behind his sisters, Christine Barney and Renee Kahle; brothers, Skip Barney and Chad Barney; his chosen brothers, Randy Carroll, Mike (Carrie) Colclasure and his family, and Clinton (Sarah) Griffith and his family; three nephews and two nieces; extended family in upstate NY, and the Southern Illinois Motor Express family.

He was preceded in death by his mom, Sandra; sister, Kimberely and his second mom, Carolyn Barney.

An avid outdoorsman, Scott loved a day hunting and fishing, but only if in the company of his family. A devout Christian, he was a member of Stonefort General Baptist church.

The family would like to express their gratitude to pastor Jeff Owens and the entire I.C.U. staff at SIH Herrin Hospital.

There will be a Celebration of Life service held on Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Stonefort General Baptist Church at 30 Roosevelt Street, Stonefort, IL.   Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with arrangements.
