Saundra Kaye Douglas

Saundra Kaye Douglas, age 81, of Marion, passed away at 12:02 pm on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Parkway Manor .

Saundra was born January 29, 1943 in Marion, a daughter of Max and Imogene (Jones) Hudgens. She married the love of her life James "Jim" Douglas on March 20, 1985 and together they shared over 31 years of marriage until his death on November 5, 2016.

Saundra was a member of McKinney Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Saundra and her husband Jim owned and operated Goreville Livestock Auctions for 26 years. In 2006 they sold the business and retired. She enjoyed visits to the beach and spending time at home.

She is survived by five children, Todd Kelley (Tina) of Marion, Scott Kelley (Michelle) of Marion, Julie Day (Gary) of Columbia, KY, Kristie Gassaway (Greg) of Glasgow, KY, and Mark Douglas (Terra) of Springhill, FL; four grandchildren, Scottlyn Kelley, Jaimi Franklin (Jonathan), Garet Payne (Kelby), and Jaylee Douglas; and her great grandchildren, Everly & Elley Payne, one brother, Gene Herman Hudgens of Marion; niece Ana Hudgens of Marion, nephew Gene William Hudgens of Hawaii.

She is preceded in death by her husband James "Jim" Douglas; one grandchild, Jenee Devine; her parents, Max Herman and Imogene (Jones) Hudgens and her first husband Lyndell Kelley, the father of Todd and Scott.

Visitation will be from 10 am - 12 pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville. The Funeral Service will be at 12 pm on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Rev. Kenny Blumenstock officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Cemetery, south of Marion.
