Sarah Parks Marion – Sarah Parks, 64 of Marion passed away at 1:45 AM on Monday, October 1, 2012 at her daughter’s home. Private graveside services will be held. Sarah was born in Marion to George & Cynthia (Jolly) Parks on Thursday, January 29, 1948. She married Samuel Joseph Hastings on Friday, July 16, 1965 in Vienna; he preceded her in death on Monday, September 1, 1980 after 15 years of marriage. Ms. Parks is survived by her daughter (of the same name) Sarah & Tim Racey; grandchild, Kasondra “Kassie” J. Hastings; Ms. Parks fiancé’, William Racey; siblings, Thelma Pulley, Venida McKinnies, Mary & Bob Crews, Betty & Eddie Miller and Theodore Parks; God-daughter, Sarah J. Bergfeld and several nieces & nephews. Ms. Parks is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 6 brothers, 1 sister and 1 nephew. Sarah was more than a homemaker. She was a wonderful mother & grandmother as well as a loving companion, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by those who knew her.
