Sandra L. Jones Sandra L. Jones, 76 of Marion, was welcomed into the Arms of her Lord on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at 10:00 PM at her residence with family and friends present. Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be held Monday, October 8, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Robert Ray officiating and Brother Gary Holmes reading an original poem by Sandra. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery-Poordo. A time of gathering for family and friends will be held at the funeral home from 5-8 PM on Sunday, October 7, 2012. Memorial donations are suggested to Cardinal Glennon Hospital. Envelopes will be available during services or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Sandra was born in Boise City, OK to Zalmon & Vera (Wing) Cooper on Monday, August 31, 1936. She married Tony Bombin, who preceded her in death, and later married Richard Dale Jones who survives. Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Sonny & Sara Jones; grandchildren, Emma Jones and Cooper Jones; siblings, Ed & Betty Cooper, Walter & Donna Cooper, Billy & Claudene Cooper and Aggie & Ferris Algood; several nieces & nephews and special friends, Gary & Terri Pearson. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband; an infant son; siblings, Sonny Cooper, Robert Cooper, Manuel Cooper, Bennie Cooper and Marie Sorrells. During Sandra’s younger years, she traveled the Midwest performing and sharing the music she created. She eventually took up employment in area restaurants as a food server; which she continued to do for the next 45 years. Never forgetting her love of music, she spent much time with her brother Ed writing poetry and songs about her Faith and later shared those songs with others. Mrs. Jones was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her memory will live on through the many songs she had written.
