Rutha Dale Borecky

Marion- Rutha Dale Borecky, 85, passed away at 3:00 AM, Saturday, October 20, 2012 at her home in Marion. Rutha was born on January 20, 1927 in Elkville to James and Gertrude (Craiglow) McCollum. She married Mike Borecky on October 5, 1946 in Dowell. HE preceded her in death on March 3, 1992. Mrs. Borecky was a homemaker and a member of Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Royalton. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time outdoors going fishing, dancing, craftwork and spending time with friends and family. Survivors include- Son- Michiel Lynn Borecky and wife Debbie of Thompsonville Daughter- Lynda Welch and husband Larry of Marion Grandchildren: Michiel Shane Borecky, Jr. J.R. & Heather Welch Kirstin and Jake Alexander Megan Lynn Borecky Great Grandchildren: Adele May Bailey Lynn Julia K. Blake Michiel Daymn She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters. As per her wishes, Rutha will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM, Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion. Pastor J. D. Quinn will officiate. Inurnment will be at St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery in Royalton Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N.
