Ruth Jent

June 10, 1920 — February 8, 2015

Harrisburg-Ruth Jent, 94, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Saline Care Center. Ruth was born on June 10, 1920 in Johnston City to Henry and Katherine (Biehl) Daub. She married Harry Jent and he preceded her in death. Ruth was a homemaker and formerly worked at Smoler’s in Herrin.  She attended Williams Prairie Baptist Church.  Her hobbies included reading, playing the piano and working crossword puzzles.  Ruth enjoyed living on the family farm and loved to work in her garden and can vegetables, she was an excellent cook.  Survivors include: Daughter-Kathy Crane of Marion Grandson-Steven Crane and fiancé Rachel Oleinick of Chicago Granddaughter-Katie Reed and husband Christian of Marion She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; twin daughters, Jean and Jane; twin sons, Ronald and Donald; brother, Robert Daub and sisters, Eva Smith and Evelyn Walter Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 2pm at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Bob McKnight officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City.  Visitation will also be on Wednesday from 12pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Carmi Children’s Home or the Johnston City public library and will be accepted at Blue Funeral Home/ 1704 N. Court St/ Marion, IL  62959.
