MARION-Ruby Jewell Coleman, 95, of Marion passed away at 1:08 Pm, Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Shawnee Christian Nursing Home in Herrin. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Reverend Kenneth Kramer and Reverend Michael Garrett officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the funeral home. Eastern Star rites will be conducted at 7:00 PM, Saturday evening by Eastern Star Leroy A. Chapter 350. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Carterville. Memorials may be made to Zion United Church of Christ Christian Education Renovation Fund, envelopes are available at the funeral home or may be sent c/o Blue Funeral Home, PO Box 411, Marion, IL 62959. Mrs. Coleman was born on October 23, 1909 in Makanda, Illinois to Nicholas Boston and Amanda Melvina (Hastings) Tripp. She married William Hugh `Blue` Coleman on December 26, 1928 in Jonesboro, Illinois, he preceded her in death on June 4, 1997. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Donna Coleman of Stonefort; daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen and Walter Pape and Eileen and Jim Crawford all of Marion; grandchildren, Gina and Aaron Wible, Tim and Jennifer Coleman, Brad and Deanna Herzog, and Jim and Debbie Pape; nine great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; seven sisters; and two brothers. Mrs. Coleman was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. She formerly worked as a sales clerk at Sears in the order department for many years and she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Marion Eastern Star Leroy A. Chapter 350.
