Roy M. Haney GOREVILLE-Roy M. Haney, 78, of Goreville passed away at 4:46 AM, Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM, Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the Blue Funeral Home in Goreville with Reverend Dale Billingsley officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Equality. Mr. Haney was born on September 2, 1930 in Shawneetown to Elijah and Alpha (Hayes) Haney. He married True Smith on January 7, 1957 in Peoria; together they shared 52 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife True of Goreville; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and LeRoy Enders of Vienna; grandchildren, Tammy and Bill McGowan, Joshua McDaniel, Mathew McDaniel and Christopher Enders; great grandchild, Aleeya McGowan; sister, Ruby Wenzel of Paducah, Kentucky; and brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Janice Haney of Vienna and Kenneth and Sherry Haney of Tuscon, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard, Billy Joe and Gary David Haney; and sisters, Donna Sue Buchan and Betty Lois Williams. Mr. Haney served his country with the United States Air Force for 38 years. While in the Air Force he was a welder and was great at working with metal. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, building fishing rods and musical instruments, old time movies, especially war movies and gardening, taking special pride in his tomatoes. He loved his dogs, “Rosie” and “Sadie Mae”.
