Rose Roberts

Martinton-Rose M. Roberts, 75, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at her home in Martinton. She was born on March 19, 1942, the daughter of Vernell and Ina Mae Hall Bell. She married Philip Roberts in Kankakee on November 11, 1961. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2010. Surviving are one son, Philip Glenn (Ruth) Roberts, Jr; one granddaughter, Jessica (fiancé Carl Winans) Roberts of Catlin, IL; one great grandson, Colt Winans of Catlin, IL; three brothers, Harold Bell of Rhinelander, WI, Vernon (Linda) Bell of Goreville, IL, and Jimmy (Deborah) Bell of Martinton; one sister, Carol Darlene (Bill) Bishop of Martinton; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents, and one sister, Brenda Shell. Rose loved cooking, birdwatching, puzzles, and going for rides. She enjoyed attending her great nephew’s basketball games and spending time with her granddaughter and great grandson. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville, IL. A burial will follow at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. An hour prior visitation will take place from 2:00-3:00 pm before the funeral service at Blue Funeral Home also on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to Iroquois Memorial Hospice.
