Ronald "Ronnie" L. Emery

Joliet-Ronald “Ronnie” Lee Emery, 64, died suddenly on August 17, 2013 at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet.  He was a beloved father and grandfather, brother and uncle. Ronnie was born November 25, 1948 in Marion to Delbert and Vita Emery.  He graduated from Marion High School and from P.T.I. in Paducah, Kentucky.  Ronnie then moved to Joliet where he worked at Kerr/Ball Glass for 36 years. He was presently working at AAA/AZZ Galvanizing for the past 15 years. Ronnie remained in the Joliet area to be near his children and grandchildren, whom he adored.  He enjoyed taking them to the movies and sharing his avid love of reading and sharing with them his devotion to the Chicago Bears and pizza on Sundays. Ronnie is survived by his three children: Tina Emery Swanson and husband Randy; Christopher Emery and Heather London and husband John.  Grandchildren: Brandon Anderson,  Justin Anderson, Christopher Emery Jr., Connor Emery, Catrina Gehrke, Sean Gehrke, Kaelynn Gerke, London Logan and Emma London. Brother, Lindell Emery and wife Andrea; niece Holly Emery Hardin and husband Kevin; nephew Jeffery Emery and wife Lisa and numerous great nephews and nieces as well as cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents. He will be greatly missed and loved for an eternity.  God bless him and keep him close. Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Blue Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Randy Allison officiating.  Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Marion.  Visitation will be on Friday, August 23, 2013 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the funeral home.
