Ronald Arthur Goede

Ronald Arthur Goede, age 84, passed away peacefully at 12:38am on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at his home in Goreville, Illinois, surrounded by his loving family

Ronald was born on February 27, 1939 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, the son of Dorothy (Larson) Martin and Arthur Goede. He married Patricia Alton in LaCrosse, Wisconsin on January 31, 1959. They shared 61 years together and had three children.

He spent many years in Waukegan, Illinois, where he worked and raised his children. He liked vacationing with family, fishing and coaching a traveling baseball team. Most important was the time spent with his wife and family. In 1996 he retired and moved to Goreville.

He is survived by three children; Santina (Thomas) Cesar of Richmond, IL, Teresa (Michael) Morrisette of Goreville, IL, Ronald (Brenda) Goede Jr. of Buncombe, IL. ; Nine grandchildren, Eric Cesar, Cassondra Cesar, Rebecca (Anthony) Cesar Lenzini, Danielle (Wade) Stevens, Lindsey Gibson, Jessica (Lindsey) Burrows, Samantha Morrisette, Mitchell (Brittany) Goede, Monica (Cody) Smith; Twelve great grandchildren; Jillian, Isaac and Noah Stevens, Tristyn Gibson, Cameron and Kadynce Tregoning, Jonah Wayman, Grasyn Edmond, Bennett Edmond, Kylee Smith, Mallory Oslay, Adalynn Smith; and two brothers- Hollis (Pat) Goede of LaCrosse, Wisconsin and Harvey (Ellen Gianoli) of LaCrosse, Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

He was the provider, protector and defender of our family and will be greatly missed.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Blue Funeral Home in Marion is assisting the family with final arrangements.
